Elite Team Selection #3

Yesterday, four of our KMAthletes rose at 5am and drove all the way to the Vaughn Sportsplex to compete in the Third Team Selection at the Elite Level with the Ontario Karate Federation. For the four of them, they have only had the chance to compete at this level a handful of times, however, their hard work in the dojo is starting to show as they continue to improve in their competitive skill.

A little bit of growth goes a long way; facing their fears, stepping onto the mats, completing a kata (pattern), or facing their opponent without hesitation is the beginning of a great athletic future. And at the end of the day, what we ask from our KMAthletes is to learn from every experience. It will only help them improve and succeed; just like how Iain made it to the second round against his competitors in the U16 14-15 Boys Kata Division. (Congrats Iain! What an accomplishment).

Congratulations to our KMAthletes for another successful tournament!

Thank-you to the coaches who helped us out yesterday, to the referee’s who try their hardest to run a smooth event, and to the parents who are a corner stone during these events. Your support helps keep our team remain focused!
