Sensei Hamoon and his Olympic Dream
At Kazoku Martial Arts, we are proud to say that we have the chance to work with Sensei Hamoon and his wife, Sensei Samira, as they work towards the Olympic Games this coming Summer in Tokyo, Japan.
It’s not often that a local athlete gets accepted in a global event like the Olympics, this is why we are asking for our community’s support to help him get the training he needs to bring home the gold for the Waterloo Region.
Because of Covid-19, it has made the journey that much more difficult as sponsorships are in short supply and his invitation was given so late in the process… meaning bigger companies have already distributed their funds for athletes who have known they were going within the past year. The worst part is, he isn’t the only athlete feeling the pressure; other contenders have missed qualifying games and are now fighting for their one chance to compete.
For those of you who don’t know, some athletes only get a single opportunity because they age out of their sport.
That being said, Sensei Hamoon has an opportunity to get the training he needs in Turkey just before he competes. The better the training, the greater the chance we’ll be celebrating a gold medalist here in the Waterloo Region.
So if you have a spare dollar and would like to support him and his wife in their journey, please visit his Gofundme Page and donate. Every little bit helps!
If you are a business owner and would like to discuss other options, please email Sensei James at info@kazokumartialartscentre.com.
