Hosted in Santiago, Chili
One of our youngest athletes has just earned a gold medal during Karate Canada’s National Tournament. It was two weeks ago, in Laval, Quebec, when Logan took to the stage and swept the mats in Male Kumite, Youth -45kg. It was his first time competing at Nationals, but it was certainly not the first time he endured this sort of pressure.
Each and every round he would capture the official’s attention and earn their flags giving him the points to win each match. The pressure was on when each one of his opponents would fight to take the win away from him. However, he swept the competition and took first securing his spot in the PanAm Championships.
His proud family cheered from the crowd as the referee signalled his win. Now, they prepare to send him to South America where he will encounter new competition who are hungry for gold.
But despite karate being an individual sport, Logan can not do it alone. He needs the support from his dojo and his community to make this a reality. We have started a Gofundme Page which gained over 25% in less than 24 hours. We wish to keep this momentum going until we hit our target goal.
