Summer is nearly over and we always like to end it with a bang! So this year we hosted our second annual ALL Nighter where our students push themselves for 24 hours. However in order to participate, everyone needs to fundraise as much as they can to put towards their trip to Japan in 2021.
And with much success, we were able to survive the night and fundraise over another $1300.00.
Thank-you again to everyone who came out to train, including our friends from the Honbu Dojo in Ingersoll as well as all of the volunteers who BBQ’d, brought us coffee, plus breakfast in the morning, and to Pam and Bryhnn who came out to teach a thing or two about yoga and flexibility (Mindful Life Studios and Bre Free Yoga).
We really appreciate everyone coming together to help us with the event and we are definitely looking forward to next year’s ALL Nighter!
We could not have asked for a more perfect Sunday during our Friends and Family BBQ. Clear skies, warm weather, delicious food, and most importantly everyone who could make it out!
Here are just a few snippets from last Sunday’s (July 8th) BBQ at Shades Mill Conservation Area in Cambridge, Ontario.

It has been just over a week since our Mother’s Day High Tea and we are super excited to share some of the precious moments we were able to capture, thanks to Sweet Sunny Five Photography. We would like to thank, once again, everyone who helped out and contributed to our fundraiser. We were able to successfully raise another $1500 towards our kid’s trip to Japan in 2021, and we now sit at $3000.00 raised so far!
So thank-you again to: E.V.O Kitchen, Sweet Sunny Five Photography, Monigrams Coffee Roasters, Le Prix, The Spiced Leaf, Play with Clay, Glam and Glow by Reema, Meals Without Madness, Langdon Hall, and all of the individuals who donated amazing prizes for our participants to win. And another special thank-you to our families inside and outside the studio as well as our friends for helping with running the show (set-up and take-down)… and let’s not forget about the Volundads!! You guys rocked the show.
This month we would like to highlight Iain and Liam who have been participating with our martial arts program over the past four years, and since then have been involved with coaching as well as all of the other events we host here at the studio.
Especially lately they have been coming out and getting involved with our 12 Hour Cycle Relay, Team Training with Seiwa Kai Canada, and completing the CN Tower Climb for the World Wildlife Fund. Their involvement has helped us fundraise over $2000 in the past six weeks for both our trip to Japan in 2021 and for the World Wildlife Fund.
Their hard work and enthusiasm has not gone unrecognized and we would like to thank them for their efforts today.
Keep up the great work!
And thank-you again to everyone who have also been supporting our efforts here at Kazoku Martial Arts Centre.
It’s just been over a week since our group of five took on 1,776 steps to the top of the CN Tower for our 7th annual climb. It’s hard to believe it’s already been seven years of climbing, but each year brings on new experiences and gives other climbers the chance to test themselves physically and mentally.
This year Jeric and I took three new climbers to Toronto in order to climb for the World Wildlife Fund who pushed themselves and made it up in under 30 minutes. Our youngest AND oldest climbers to date.
Not only did we manage to climb in no time, we were also able to raise a total of $1,060 for the WWF. So in seven years of climbing, we’ve almost raised $10,000!
I want to send my biggest thanks to everyone who came out to help us fundraise back in March and who still continued to donate while our climbers prepared for the big day. It’s always a blast and next year I will be preparing another team for our 8th annual climb. If you would like to join us, be sure to let us know by February 2019 when we assemble our next group.
And to find out more about the WWF, please visit their website.
For those of you who missed out on Sunday, here’s what we got up to!
On Sunday, March, 18th, 2018 members of our club banned together to help us fundraise for two of our big events here at the studio. One is our annual CN Tower Climb for the World Wildlife Fund and the other is our cultural experience excursion to Japan in 2021.
From 8am to 8pm our students, parents, clients, family and friends came in to keep the wheels spinning while we were live on Instagram. Along side them were fellow cyclists from 3Sixty5 Cycling, our own personal trainer Whole Health Chelsi, and fuelling us along the way was Brutes and Babes Nutrition Inc. While streaming, our viewers helped spread awareness of our mission which helped us reach beyond our $1,000.00 goal to hit $1,128.00 and it’s still continuing to climb!
So on behalf of everyone here at Kazoku Martial Arts & Fitness I would like to thank everyone who came out and to all of you who watched us ride. We would not have been able to achieve our goal without your love and support.
You can continue to watch our story unfold as we aim to climb the CN Tower on April 8th as well as visit the land of the rising sun in 2021 by following us on Facebook and Instagram.
