Budokan, 2009

Ten years ago I had the most amazing opportunity to travel over 10,000 km to Tokyo, Japan. I had just turned 19 years old and could not wait to go to a country I had been longing to see. While I was there I visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Naha; along with other small towns along the way.

It’s a trip I have never been able to forget and I’m excited to share this experience a decade later with my own karate students.

Under our head instructor, Shihan Yabunaka, we are planning two separate trips to Japan so we can train with Shihan Fujiwara in Omagari, Akita, Japan. Our first trip will be in July, 2019 with a select number of our adult students who will get a better idea of what’s to come on our second trip, which will be in 2021. During our second adventure we will be bringing a larger group to train with our head instructors and to visit the birthplace of karate.

However, in order to make this happen we have made it our mission to fundraise a large sum of $20,000 to subsidize the costs of the trip.

For more information on how you can help us get there, please be sure to contact us.
