CN Tower Climb 2018

CN Tower 2018It’s just been over a week since our group of five took on 1,776 steps to the top of the CN Tower for our 7th annual climb. It’s hard to believe it’s already been seven years of climbing, but each year brings on new experiences and gives other climbers the chance to test themselves physically and mentally.

This year Jeric and I took three new climbers to Toronto in order to climb for the World Wildlife Fund who pushed themselves and made it up in under 30 minutes. Our youngest AND oldest climbers to date.

Not only did we manage to climb in no time, we were also able to raise a total of $1,060 for the WWF. So in seven years of climbing, we’ve almost raised $10,000!

I want to send my biggest thanks to everyone who came out to help us fundraise back in March and who still continued to donate while our climbers prepared for the big day. It’s always a blast and next year I will be preparing another team for our 8th annual climb. If you would like to join us, be sure to let us know by February 2019 when we assemble our next group.

CN Tower Climb 2017

After months of preparation and continuous fundraising, our team has successfully climbed (yet again) all 144 flights of stairs up the CN Tower in Toronto this morning. With your help, we successfully raised $1,551 for the World Wildlife Fund. This money will help continue the efforts of the WWF to protect endangered species and habitats around the world.

So again, from all of us, thank-you to all of you who supported us and our efforts to reach our fundraising goal. We could not have done it without your help!

Dance-a-thon/Karate Marathon

After a month of planning I’m excited to say that our event was a BIG success! But for those of you who may not know, here’s what we got up to!

A team of us will once again climb all 144 flights of stairs up the CN Tower. In doing so we have to fundraise for the World Wildlife Fund. So to collect those donations, Autumn from ONE Movement and myself (James), from Kazoku Martial Arts Centre, came up with our first ever Dance-a-thon and Karate Marathon. Two worlds collided over six hours giving our students the chance to experience something different.

With many of our own attending the event and draw prizes to be won, we were able to collect $300.00 for our fundraiser. After calculating everything that’s been collected so far, from our event and our other team members, we have raised over $1000.00! And now with just one month to go all we need to do is prepare for the hike up 144 flights of stairs in the CN Tower.

Thank-you again to all of the local businesses who donated items for our draw prizes; including Monigram Coffee Roasers, E.V.O Kitchen, Sunset Gourmet, Sugar Berries, Moksha Cambridge, and Nature’s Vibe. Also a BIG thank-you to Autumn for letting us use her space and another thank-you to all of those who participated.

So far we have raised money for:

  • Worldvision – providing text books and emergency water supplies
  • National Service Dogs
  • The Rainbow Railroad
  • Medical Service Dogs for Autism

In the weeks to come, we hope to help:

  • Cambridge Food Bank
  • Little Friends Rescue
  • The Women’s Crisis Services
  • And more

You can join us every Tuesday evening from 6-7pm and Saturday morning from 10-11am and help make a bigger impact for these local charities!
