Here’s the latest news from our travels
Our crew in Japan have spent the last four days in Tokyo and are loving every minute of it. Despite the jet lag, everyone’s enjoying the food, the sights, and of course the people.

The transit system was a challenge, at first. But it didn’t take long for people to take the role as navigator to ensure no one got lost!
And for only 900 yen, the day pass became the crew’s best friend – haha!
Our time in Tokyo has been short. It’s also been jam-packed. We’ve visited Tokyo Skytree, gone karting, Tokyo Disney, strolling through shrines, and shopping.
It’s amazing how much everyone has been able to get done in such a short period of time.
Yet, as Sensei said, “vacation time is over. It is time to train!”
(In fact, he’s writing this travelling at 350km/h to Omagari)
The next six days will involve four days of training and one belt exam for two of Kazoku’s students. Zandre, who’s testing for Shodan and AJ who is testing for Nidan.
This will be challenging, but this is why we make the trek to Japan. It’s our way to ensure we are teaching authentic karate and respecting its culture. It is a trip no one will forget.
